RIVER FLOODING-This is the second in a series of interactive exercises designed to help you learn about river processes such as discharge, flooding, flood frequency, erosion, and deposition.

Each exercise requires you to make careful observations and measurements, do simple calculations, and answer questions about your work. A "Certificate of Completion" will be awarded to you at the end of each activity.

Although the first few pages of this activity (River Flooding) briefly review the concepts of determining stream discharge, you are encouraged to complete, River Discharge before going on.

Most students can complete this exercise in about 1 to 1.5 hours.
