Sample Population Groups and Record ABO Blood Types

Human blood types can be classified using the ABO blood group system. The types are determined by the presence or absence of A or B antigens on the surface of red blood cells (erythrocytes). Persons may have type A, type B, type AB (both antigens), or type O (neither antigen). ABO blood type can determined easily using anti-A and anti-B antibody serums. Blood carrying the A and/or B antigents will agglutinate when exposed to the anti-A and anti-B serums.
